Notes on Material


Comments on Condition
Overall wear consistent with age of the object. Condition is good in consideration of it's age and function as a practical object. Overall elements are stable and not in danger of flaking, splintering or falling off. Areas of loss on the base, and small pockets throughout. Abrasions, scuffs and stains throughout. A few areas of white accretion on the back and sides. Pigment is bright and largely intact with some areas of loss and abrasion. The joins and edges of the box are stable, one nail slightly protruding in the upper right corner but firmly in place.
