PROVENANCEEstate of the Artist
This book was published by Éditions L'Obsidienne in 1979.The following description of the edition appears on page 97 of the book: (translated from the original French text)"From this work by Paul-Marie Lapointe, who wrote the poems and composed the maquette, the following were produced: 27 copies on Umbria paper by Fabriano, illustrated with original engravings by Betty Goodwin, of which 20 copies for trade, numbered from 1 to 20; 5 non-commercial copies reserved for the collaborators and numbered I to V; and 2 copies for legal deposit; these copies, numbered by hand, are signed by the author and by the artist; 273 copies, comprising the text of the work and one illustration by Betty Goodwin, printed on Byronic paper, numbered from 28 to 300 and signed by the author." Contrary to this description, the book is in fact composed of two different types of paper: Byronic is used for the text; the illustration by Betty Goodwin (an etching) is printed on Umbria paper by Fabriano.
