Peter Doig
Peter Doig
1959 -
Peter Doig was born in Scotland and spent his early childhood years living in Trinidad before moving with his family to Canada for many years. He currently resides and works in Trinidad, where he returned in 2002 following an artist residency on the island.

Today Doig is regarded as one of the world’s foremost living figurative painters, and is internationally admired and collected. He is best known for his somewhat imaginative landscapes, and his time in Canada and Trinidad shines through in some of his most outstanding works.

Doig’s works have been extensively exhibited and are included in the collections of countless major institutions across the world, including Kunsthalle Munich, the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, both the British Museum and the Tate Modern in London, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, among many others.
