Melina Rymberg
Melina’s lifelong dedication to the arts began in childhood at Winnipeg’s Paradise Art School and has flourished through her academic and professional pursuits. She holds both a Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction and a Master’s degree in Art History from the University of Toronto, where she studied under some of the fields most esteemed scholars. Her rigorous research abilities and commitment to scholarly inquiry continue to inform her professional approach.
Since joining Heffel in 2014 through the University of Toronto Art Museum internship program, Melina has grown into a leadership role within the firm. As Manager, she champions operational excellence and values the opportunity to work alongside a passionate and knowledgeable team, firmly believing that shared expertise and collaboration are central to Heffel’s continued success and legacy.
In her role as Consignment Specialist, Melina guides clients through the consignment and acquisition process with care and professionalism. She has played an integral role in the successful management of numerous auction partnerships and corporate collection sales led out of Heffel’s Toronto office. She also enjoys supporting clients as a telephone bidding representative during live auctions, ensuring a seamless and confident bidding experience.
A passionate advocate for the recognition of women artists, Melina has contributed to the sale of important works by seminal figures including Kenojuak Ashevak, Molly Lamb Bobak, Emily Carr, Nora Frances Collyer, Frances Anne Hopkins, Yvonne McKague Housser, Rita Letendre, Doris McCarthy, Helen McNicoll, Daphne Odjig, Anne Savage, and Ethel Seath.
Melina approaches her work with a deep sense of responsibility and considers it a privilege to steward exceptional works of art and support their transition into new collections.
Originally from Buenos Aires, she is also fluent in Spanish.
