Molly Tonken

Molly received her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in 2013, completing a double major in Art History and English Literature. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester abroad in Rome, Italy, expanding the breadth of her art history knowledge. After graduation, Molly returned to Rome to work with a private tour operator, and continued to develop her proficiency in Italian.

In 2014, Molly joined Heffel’s Calgary office. She played a key role in a major project with Imperial Oil, during which Heffel facilitated the divestment of over 2,500 works of art. The Imperial Oil project included the 2016 landmark sale of Lawren Harris’s Mountain Forms for $11.2 million - the highest price ever achieved for a Canadian artwork at auction. From 2016 to 2018, Molly worked at Heffel’s Vancouver gallery, broadening her expertise in Canadian art and developing her knowledge of the auction business with Heffel’s larger national team.

Molly currently serves as a Consignment Specialist and Co-Director of Heffel Calgary. Together with Jared, she represents Heffel across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, offering a full suite of consignment, appraisal, and storage services. In 2023, Heffel Calgary opened its Mayland Heights location, a 4,500-square-foot, two-level facility providing extensive gallery and storage space.

Molly takes pride in representing Heffel in her home city and providing outstanding service to Calgary and the prairie provinces.
