PROVENANCE
A Distinguished Private Collection, Vancouver
Carved in high relief, the jade depicts a scholar and servant travelling through mountains, accompanied by pine trees, lingzhi, and mountain streams. The reverse carved with a deer beside a waterfall, which extends over the base to connect with the stream on the other side of the carving. The stone is of pale celadon tone with russet inclusions.
