Complete and ensuite from the Edo period with a rare matching lacquered iron and spiked helmet. The body of the armour consists of a rectangular gane tatami dou (chest protector) made in two sections joined by a long hinge under the left arm, each rectangular piece has the design of a crisply embossed mon (family crest), the plates all connected by black lacquered mail and sewn down into the backing of a dark blue hemp cloth with leather deer skin trim and a very unusual purple linen fabric uniting the design of the whole armour.

There are no shoulder guards (this type of armour did not require them) but rather, the upper section of the shino gote (sleeves) are of the same construction as the dou, ensuring a continuity of surface. The lower arms are defended by five shino (splints). The tekko (gloves), with rounded knuckle plate, are fitted the same as the dou. The haidate (thing guards) has a similar construction as the dou. The armour is completed by conventional lacquered shino suneate (shin gauards) of black and purple "Dutch cloth."
